Laura grew up in the Central Valley riding with Jen Hannink. As a junior, she competed in junior hunters and Eq as well as junior jumpers and national standard Grand Prixs throughout California. Many of the horses she competed with were horses she and Jen developed from green broke and brought along through the levels.
Laura graduated Summa Cum Laude from Virginia Intermont College earning a bachelor of science in Business Management and a second BS degree in Equine Science with an honors program minor. During her four years at college, she competed on Intermont’s IHSA, IDA, and ANRC teams as well as competing in the AIEC international program at competitions in Torino, Italy, Ontario, Canada, and the World University Equestrian Championships in South Korea.
Laura attended graduate school in New York at Marist College earning an MBA in financial management. Concurrent to grad school, she started her professional career working for David Hopper in NY from 2011-2014. While working for David Hopper, she continued to develop young horses, retrained older horses, and generally gave quality training to horses of all ages and skill sets. In 2015, she began working with Jen Hannink again. This time out of Portuguese Bend Riding Club in Rancho Palos Verdes where she built and managed the training and lesson programs. Her students ranged from walk trot to 1.20+ jumpers. Currently, Laura is working with Jen out at Hannink Equine Center in Modesto. She has several horses she is competing in hunter derbies and Grand Prixs in California. She also has several horses available for sale and for lease.
